Adobe announce 100 millions downloads for AIR

Less that a year after the first release of AIR, Adobe has announced that its AIR runtime has been downloaded more than 100 millions times. I am quite impressed by this number, this sounds like a record in the IT landscape, and it seems to me a little over evaluated given the fact that I have not seen that many AIR applications.

Adobe Media Player is likely the #1 driver for this.

It is actually the preferred runtime to write Twitter clients. It doesn't matter at all at Adobe if not many people are actually using it, like FlashLite, basically it is everywhere, but none of companies that invested in making content for it is actually drawing any money.
